How much does a session with Veronica cost?

A session of 60 minutes costs $220 during standard business hours (9am up to 5pm). 

Full Payment is processed at the end of your session. Visa, Mastercard, AMEX and UnionPay are available.

 

 Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?

No; you are able to see a psychologist without a GP referral. However, if eligible, your GP is able to provide you with a referral and a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), which will give you access to up to 10 Medicare rebated psychology sessions per calendar year. This will help reduce out of pocket fees and make sessions more affordable.

 

How does a Mental Health Treatment Plan work?

You will first need to meet with your regular GP to obtain a MHTP and a referral letter. The MHTP covers a Medicare rebate for an initial

6 psychology sessions. On completion of the first 6 sessions, your psychologist provides an update to your GP about your progress. You are then required to meet with your GP for a review. Your GP will determine if a further 4 sessions of psychology under the Medicare rebate scheme is indicated.

How do I claim the Medicare rebate?

HICAPS is available at Welcoming Space Psychology, allowing your Medicare rebate to be processed at the end of your session.

Medicare currently returns a rebate of $149.05 for individual clinical psychology sessions. 

 

Can I claim the cost of the sessions under my private health insurance?

What is covered by private health insurance varies by policy and level of cover. Please contact your private health insurer directly to determine your individual circumstances. HICAPS is available for most insurers, otherwise an Invoice and receipt of payment will be provided for you to claim from your health fund directly.

It is important to note that private health insurance claims cannot be applied to sessions in addition to the Medicare rebate.

 

Are you registered with any other providers?

I am currently unable to provide services under Workcover or the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).

 

How long do sessions go for?

Sessions are 60 minutes, inclusive of scheduling any follow up appointments and processing payment.

 Longer sessions would come at additional cost, to be negotiated.

Cancellation policy:

Booked appointment times are reserved for you. If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notification. This will allow me time to offer the appointment time to anyone on a cancellation waitlist.

If a session has not been paid for, further appointments will not be offered until outstanding fees have been settled.
